Replacing the front brake
I'm working on a PCX JF28 here.
The structure is similar to other models such as the JK05, JF81 and JF56, so please use this as a reference.
Replace your brake pads when the remaining thickness is less than 1 mm.
You may even need to replace the brake discs.
There are many different brake pads available, but in general, original parts offer the best ratio of braking power to durability.
It offers excellent value for money, so I can highly recommend it.

Since relatively few people own a torque wrench before starting work, I recommend remembering the torque you used when removing the parts and then reassembling them with a little more force.
Since this is a critical component, it would be advisable to double-check the final assembly.

I removed the brake caliper.
If the value continues to drop like this, we recommend an exchange.

This inevitably happens on longer journeys. Ideally, you should remove as much dirt as possible, but more importantly, you should clean the brake caliper pistons.
Hold down two of the three brake pistons (or one of the two, as the combined braking system was discontinued in 2018) and apply the brake lever. The unpressed brake piston will extend. Once it's extended far enough to become dirty, spray brake cleaner on it with a toothbrush and scrub it thoroughly. Then wipe it clean.
This measure alone will significantly improve braking performance. Just be careful not to scratch the surface while polishing, otherwise brake fluid will leak out.

Another thing I would like to ask you to do is clean the pad pins.
If the pads are rusty or dirty, they can jam and the movement becomes inaccurate.
Polish with fine sandpaper (grit approx. #800) to remove rust and dirt, then apply pad grease during reassembly.
Apply it.
Then simply reassemble everything in the reverse order of disassembly, and you're done.

At seikousfactory we currently mainly sell parts for PCX, Address 110, XSR and CBR250RR in Japan, which are also sold and used in Indonesia and other countries.
Our goal is to be a business that meets the needs of our customers by focusing on custom parts that are not sold in Japan, as well as wear parts that need to be replaced regularly.
